The WA Karate Federation (WAKF) is saying goodbye to Christine Smith, who has been a vital member of our association for over 37 years. Christine started as a volunteer, but her passion and dedication made her a key figure in the world of Karate in Western Australia. Her departure leaves a lasting impact on the administration of WAKF.
Christine has done many amazing things for Karate in WA during her time with the WAKF. She has helped organise and led state teams, planned and run events, arranged seminars and courses as well looking after the membership and the administration of the sport. Christine has also been a great mentor and supporter for many karate athletes, parents, and members. She has made a huge difference in the growth and development of Karate in our community.
The WAKF Board will formally recognise and honour Christine’s achievements at an upcoming event in 2024.
We are very grateful to Christine for her loyal service and commitment for almost four decades. She has been an inspiration to us all, and we wish her all the best for her future plans.
