The Karate Australia Board of Directors have recently reviewed the National Coach Selection Policy and as result, have decided to amend the existing structure as well as leverage the Recognised State Associations of Karate Australia (KA) by developing a model that more accurately reflects the current landscape, better positions Australia for success on the international stage and aligns with the best practice principles as published by the Australian Sports Commission.

The National Team Coach Selection Policy is published on the Karate Australia website.

KA are calling for expressions of interest from registered members of Karate Australia (KA) to apply for the position of National Coach to assist with the delivery of the Kata and Kumite Training Program.

Positions are voluntary in nature, and it is a requirement of all National Coaches to work closely and collaboratively with each other as they are responsible for implementing and delivering the Kata and Kumite Training Program.

Please be aware, irrespective of coaching specialisation, all National Coaches are required to have the ability and willingness to support both Kata and Kumite athletes whilst discharging their duties.

It is a requirement for successful applicants to actively participate in the Kata and Kumite Training Program as published on the KA Calendar of Events (https://www.karateaustralia.org.au/events/) during their term of appointment.

The appointment and term of office of the successful applicants will vary depending on their experience and qualifications.

The Board of Directors looks forward to receiving all applications by no later than 5.00pm (AEST) on 15 December 2023.
