Congratulations to every athlete, coach, referee, volunteer and supporter who represented Western Australia at the 2026 Karate Australia National Championships in Hobart.
The commitment, dedication and countless hours of preparation throughout the year culminated in an outstanding Championships, with the incredible team spirit and support shown by our WA family being a true highlight.
A special congratulations goes to our Women’s Open Kumite Team, who made history by claiming the national title for the fifth consecutive year—a remarkable achievement that reflects the strength and depth of women’s kumite in Western Australia.
Overall, Team WA finished an outstanding second on the national medal tally, bringing home 17 gold, 21 silver and 41 bronze medals.
Every athlete should be immensely proud of their efforts, not only for their performances on the tatami but also for the respect, sportsmanship and pride with which they represented Western Australia. Best from the West!
