The Western Australian Karate Federation (WAKF) is the State Sporting Organisation governing the sport of karate in Western Australia.
The WAKF is run under the auspices of the Australian Karate Federation, who are sanctioned by the World Karate Federation.
As a non-profit organisation, WAKF puts all funds generated from its’ programs back into the sport of karate for the benefit of the karate community. Your involvement in the WAKF programs and events actively enhances the sport for the better as a whole and improves the quality of the product offered to the community.
As the peak administrative body of karate in Western Australia, the WAKF partners with businesses and organisations to promote Karate as an “activity for life”. Our principal partners help shape the strategic development of Karate in WA and allow Karate to share one of the World’s most played martial arts throughout the state.
The WAKF constitution provides for five Elected Directors, two Appointed Directors. All roles are voluntary.
Operational matters are managed by staff roles of Executive officer and Administration Manager.
The governance of the Association is managed by the WAKF Board. The Board as the governing authority of the Association is responsible for acting on all State issues in accordance with the objects and strategies of the Association and shall operate for the collective and mutual benefit of the Association and the sport of Karate in Western Australia.
