NewsWAKF Secures Funding for An Asian Engagement Initiative

The WA Karate Federation (WAKF) is thrilled to announce the successful grant application through the DLGSC Asian Engagement in Sport Strategy, supported by Lotterywest.

This funding will empower us to deliver a dynamic and impactful program designed to strengthen international relationships and promote karate development across Western Australia and Asia.

The Asian Engagement Initiative will span three years (2025-2027) and aims to:

  • Build strategic partnerships within Indonesia and Japan.
  • Enhance coach, referee and athlete development through reciprocal training camps and international events.
  • Promote cultural exchange and community engagement with local Asian communities.
  • Showcase WA as a hub for karate excellence.

This initiative aligns with our strategic goals of fostering community connections, increasing diversity, and strengthening high-performance pathways for athletes.

A huge thank you to the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries (DLGSC) and Lotterywest for supporting this exciting project and helping us bring our vision to life!
