Great news! KidSport has doubled from $150 to $300 per eligible child per financial year!

The program provides financial assistance to families to ensure all kids have the opportunity to participate in sport, remain physically active and build long lasting friendships.

Not only can the vouchers go towards club registration fees, they can also be used towards essential playing equipment and uniforms.

KidSport is available to children between 5 and 18 years who are named on a valid Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card, with up to $300 available per financial year.

Changes to the KidSport program were announced on 22 August 2023, with the KidSport policy updated to include:
  • increase to $300 funding per eligible child, per financial year.
  • uniforms and equipment included in the program.
  • easier access to KidSport for asylum seekers, refugees, humanitarian entrants, and children in care.

Community Sporting Clubs (incorporated) and Business Clubs can apply to be a KidsSport Club.

Club Criteria is as follows.

Business
  • be registered and affiliated with the DLGSC recognised state sporting association for the sport provided by the business.
  • provide an activity which meets DLGSC’s definition of sport.
  • provide a program with a minimum 8 weeks of sport activity.
Community sport club or incorporated organisation
  • be incorporated under the Associations Incorporations Act 2015 (WA) or an Indigenous organisation under the Corporations (Aboriginal Torres Strait Islander) Act 2006 (Cth).
  • provide an activity which meets DLGSC’s definition of sport.
  • provide a program with a minimum 8 weeks of sport activity.
